These hubs combine high performance, ease of use, and aggressive pricing to help level the playing field between small to medium-size businesses (SMB) and their larger competitors. Fast, Simple Installation The dual-speed unmanaged hubs feature a Plug and Play design that makes them very easy to install. A unit is hooked up through an RJ-45 connection to any PC, server, or other device, using your current CAT5 cabling. Then, because the hubs are unmanaged, they simply work. This unmanaged simplicity reduces the complexity of setting up your network. Low or No Maintenance Easily viewable multi-color LEDs on the front panel indicate network activity "at-a-glance," allowing a workgroup to efficiently monitor power, activity, collision, partition, and speed. This ensures reliable, low-maintenance operation, which saves money in the long run. Flexibility for Network Design The dual-speed, stackable, unmanaged hubs are available in 8-port and 16-port versions, with or without an internal switch. Auto-negotiating ports enable the units to automatically adapt to either 10 Mb/s or 100 Mb/s as needed. This level of flexibility makes the hubs ideal for SMB environments combining, on the same network, multimedia and other high-bandwidth applications with applications that run acceptably at speeds of 10 Mb/s. It also enables the workgroup to move from 10 Mb/s to 100 Mb/s as the need arises, minimizing trips to the wiring closet as your network evolves to Fast Ethernet. Growth Path for the Evolving Business Both the 8-port and the 16-port hubs are stackable, up to six high. Two stacks of these Class II repeaters can be installed, providing high-performance, dual-speed connections for up to 192 users. Each stack requires only one unit with an internal switch for the entire stack to communicate between 10 Mb/s and 100 Mb/s. Data is transmitted between all hubs stacked together.
