The Compaq 56K PCI Fax Modem is Compaq's globally-approved internal analog modem. It cost-effectively and easily delivers high speed V.90 and
K56Flex connections to the Internet and the corporate network. It provides desktop fax capabilities for large corporate and small business users located
around the world.

The Compaq 56K PCI Fax Modem gives users cost-effective, high speed V.90 and K56Flex analog connections to the Internet and to their corporate
networks, and complete faxing capabilities, in up to 30 countries. (Note: Please see Compaq website at www.compaq.com for details which countries are
covered by this product.) The controllerless 56K PCI Fax Modem offers large corporate and small business users around the world an efficient, low-cost
modem with a combination of reliable, high speed analog data access, simplified installation, support, and use, and compatibility with open-system and
standards-based products.
Fully compatible with Windows NT, 98, and 95, and inter-operable with leading communication applications, this globally-approved universal design
delivers a one-modem solution to multi-national companies that want to minimize support issues and costs, and simplify record keeping and device
tracking, while achieving faster throughput speeds and reliable performance.
PCI Format
The 56K PCI Fax Modem is easier to install than ISA modems, because the PCI standard eliminates IRQ conflicts with other PC devices. Also, it provides
faster modem-to-PC throughput (up to 230 Kbps) than ISA models, which are limited to speeds of 115 Kbps. This eliminates the internal bottlenecks
common with ISA modems, and allows users to access graphic-intense and compressed files faster.
V.90 and K56Flex Technology
The 56K PCI Fax Modem comes pre-loaded with both V.90 and K56Flex technology. When making an Internet or remote corporate network connection,
the modem auto-configures to the appropriate technology. This gives users seamless, smooth analog connections, as well as the maximum opportunity to
connect at the highest available connection speed without reflashing the modem. The high speed, flexible capability increases users' access to large and
graphic-intense files, and decreases file download times. The product also supports connections with all slower protocols.
Global Approval
The 56K PCI Fax Modem's globally-approved universal design allows international companies to use it as their one-modem solution in up to 30 countries.
