This card describes how to convert a tower model
ProLiant Storage System Model UE into a rack-mounted
model. When the conversion is complete, refer to the
Compaq ProLiant Storage System Model UE User
Guide for additional information.
WARNING: To reduce the risk personal injury or damage to the equipment,
refer to the documentation supplied with the Compaq ProLiant Storage
System Model UE and observe the appropriate safety precautions and rack
installation instructions.

The following items are included with this kit:
s Front panel
s 14 screws for front panel
s Product label(s)
s Rack-mounting hardware kit
s Rack template
s This conversion card
Additional Tools Needed
In addition to the items in this kit, you will need a Torx T-15 screwdriver.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment:
s If the system has multiple power supplies, disconnect power from the
system by unplugging all power cords from the power supplies.
s Unplug the power cord before removing the power supply.
Before Beginning the Conversion
Before beginning the conversion, perform the following steps:
1. Back up all data on the storage system drives.
2. Perform a normal operating system shutdown on the server.
3. Turn OFF the server supporting the storage system.
4. Place the storage system in STANDBY.
5. Disconnect the SCSI cable from the storage system.
6. Disconnect the power cord(s) from the storage system.
7. Label each hard drive with the drive bay number in which
it is located.
