System Specifications
Minimum Hardware Configuration
Make sure that your server meets the requirements for minimum hardware
configuration. During the troubleshooting process, it may be necessary to
reduce your system to its minimum configuration, replacing each option one at
a time to determine the cause of failure.

Minimum Hardware Configuration
Component Minimum Specification
Processors A minimum of one processor needs to be installed, with a terminator installed in each slot
that does not contain a processor.
Power Supply At least two hot-plug power supplies must be installed.
Fans At least two system fans, one I/O fan, and three drive fans must be installed.
Memory At least two sockets (one bank) must be populated with 100-MHz SDRAM DIMMs.
