Features

Memory Array Error Protection - to ensure that the data read is
the same as the data written, the drive appends an Error Correction Code
(ECC) to the end of each block of data stored.
Transfer Error Protection - the drive uses an end to end Error
Detection Code (EDC) to protect against data errors. The EDC is added as
a prefix to the data as it arrives from the SCSI bus (after SCSI bus
parity has been checked) protecting against transfer errors anywhere in
the data path. It is stored and read with the data.
Metadata Protection - the logical block number of each sector is
appended to the user data and stored on the media.
