The Compaq TZ89 DLT Tape Drive elevates the digital linear tape (DLT) family
to new levels of capacity and performance. The TZ89 offers a capacity of 35
GB native (70 GB compressed) per cartridge and a transfer rate of 5
MB/second (native). It provides high-end workstations, as well as network
servers and systems, with enhanced, unattended backup/restore and archival
capabilities. These capabilities, combined with the high-reliability and
industry-leading data integrity of the DLT medium, make the TZ89 a truly
heavy-duty tape drive for hierarchical storage management (HSM),
image/multimedia storage, archiving, near-on-line storage, and unattended
backup applications.
