The AlphaServer 400 4/166 is a low-cost, entry-level server for any small to
medium-size company or workgroup. It is ideal for customers who need a local
area network (LAN) server for employees' file, print, and e-mail
applications, or it can function as a file backup system or application
server.
The system is housed in a mini-tower enclosure and yields the highest
performance of any entry-level server on the market. The system, which runs
at 166 MHz, runs up to four times faster than comparable competitive
servers. The AlphaServer 400 4/166 supports 192 Mbytes of memory and 8.4
Gbytes of storage. It is ideal for such key applications in departments as
ECAD, FABS, and EDI as well as horizontal applications such as database and
high-performance computing.
The system runs three operating systems--Digital's UNIX (DEC OSF/1),
OpenVMS, and Windows NT Server.
