*Product Description* ===================== AlphaServer 4000/4100 ===================== AlphaServer 4100 is a family of scaleable servers which utilize EV5 and EV5.6 Alpha technologies. Windows NT, Digital Unix and OpenVMS are supported operating systems. The AlphaServer 4100 systems are available in cabinet (rackmount) or pedestal versions. The pedestal system has one system drawer and up to three StorageWorks shelves. The cabinet system can have a combination of system drawers and StorageWorks shelves that occupy the five sections of the cabinet. A fully configured system drawer can have up to four CPUs, four memory pairs and a total of eight I/O options. The I/O options can be all PCI options or a combination of PCI options and EISA options, but there can be no more than three EISA options. AlphaServer 4000/4100 systems are now available with 400 MHz of processing power and 4 MB onboard cache. They are fully scalable, from the affordable, entry-level AlphaServer 4000 server to the enterprise-power AlphaServer 4100. Changes to the overall packaging design of the AlphaServer 4xxx family simplifies the ordering process while providing organizations with the flexibility to develop a system that best meets their needs. The AlphaServer 4xxx family now provides users with the ability to build a "cluster-in-a-cabinet." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
