_Top of page_ Product Description =================== Like the AlphaServer 4100 the Digital Server 7000 model 7300 will support 1-4 CPU on the mother board and 1-4 memory slots ( each slot is a pair of modules), and 1-4 bus bridges to PCI . The Digital Server 7000 Model 7300 is a set of core logic designed to use the EV5.6 SMP NT only CPU. The design of the CPU will only support the NT operation system and no conversion to UNIX or OVMS will be offered. Logic design is the same as the AlphaServer 4100 but new CPU and Memory module number will be taken out. Option support will be expanded to current options only reserved for Intel Server products. EV6-ready DIGITAL Server 7300 family of servers support 5/533 MHz and 5/400 MHz processing power, each with 4 MB of on-board cache. CPU board and SMP upgrades for 5/533MHz servers are also orderable. DIGITAL Server 7300 enhancements include support for UltraSCSI adapters, controllers, shelves, disks, and cables, all color-coded in frost white. Systems include an Ultra SCSI embedded adapter and UltraSCSI cables for high density connectors (HD68) and very high density connections VHDCI. Configuration information is available for Pedestal, Cabinet, and System Drawer to support the implementation of UltraSCSI technology. Enhanced operating system software is Windows NT V4.0 with UltraSCSI backwards compatibility support to V3.51. ServerWORKS Manager provides proactive server and network management capabilities and is bundled with all DIGITAL Server systems. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) enables information to pass from the managed system to the ServerWORKS management console for Windows NT systems. ServerWORKS is feature rich and uses an autodiscovery process to automatically discover all servers and network devices on the LAN and build a Topology Map so the administrator can see how the systems are connected together. Detailed server information is available by drilling down into the server to retrieve critical data which gets displayed on an easy to read system browser. System, network, storage, and environmental information is retrievable. _Top of page_ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
