Description Unixware 7.1.1 Kit*
and
Configuration* One kit is required per cluster.
The Quick Install procedure is the
main feature of the U200 and U300
cluster kits. It is designed to
simplify software installation for
specific cluster configurations in
one hour.
The U/200 Kit supports any two
identical ML350 servers, only.
The U/200 Kit supports an Ethernet
IP node connection, ServerNet is not
available. The U/200 Kit's Ethernet
interconnect cable and the embedded
Ethernet provided with the ProLiant
ML350 server is used for the
interconnect hardware; no additional
interconnect hardware is required.
The Ethernet IP interconnect is
configured as a private network on
its own subnet. A second physical
Ethernet connection is required for
the public local area network (LAN).
If a public local (LAN) network
connection is desired, a Compaq
NC3123 Fast Ethernet NIC WOL *must*
be installed in each server prior to
the cluster Quick Install. The Quick
Install wiill automatically
configure this controller.
Additional or different Ethernet LAN
controllers may be used, but they
must installed after the Quick
Install.
The U/200 kit supports internal
Cross Node Mirroring (CNM); external
storage is not available. UnixWare 7
Mirroring Option or Online Data
Manager license is required to
enable CNM. Contact a SCO
distributor or reseller to obtain
the license.
One and only one 9.1GB drive or
higher per server is required. After
theQuick Install, additional drives
may be added to increase storage
capacity.
If installing an vendor supplied
database product, it is recommended
that it be run on the server node
that contains the tape drive.
Web enabled CIM Agents support the
U200.
*U300 ProLiant Clusters for SCO
Unixware 7.1.1 Kit*
One Kit is required per Cluster
Like the U/200, the Quick Install
procedure is the main feature of the
U300 cluster kit. It is designed to
simplify software installation for
specific cluster configurations in
one hour.
The U300 supports the ProLiant ML370
or DL380 servers in a HA Cluster
configuration with FCAL external
storage option (StorageWorks RA4100)
& OCI/IP or ServerNet I node
interconnect. The U/300 Kit supports
two identical ML370 or DL380
servers. For ServerNet connected
clusters, additional servers may be
added after the Quick Install using
redundant ServerNet I switches.
The U300 kit offers a choice between
Ethernet IP or ServerNet I node
connections. For Ethernet IP, the
U/300 Kit's Ethernet interconnect
cable and the embedded Ethernet NIC
of either server are all that's
required to configure the private
interconnect which must on its own
subnet.
A second physical Ethernet
connection is required for the
public local area network.
For ServerNet I, one ServerNet 1.5e
PCI adapter per server and two
ServerNet cables are required. In
this case, the Ethernet embedded NIC
in either server is not used for the
private interconnect but may be used
for the public LAN.
For ServerNet clusters, ServerNet I
switches may be added after the
Quick Install to add additional
nodes; two switches per cluster, and
two cables and one adapter per
server are required.
ServerNet I and Ethernet IP node
interconnects can not be mixed
within the same cluster.
If a public LAN is required for an
Ethernet IP connected cluster, a
Compaq NC3123 must be installed in
each server prior to the cluster
Quick Install. The Quick Install
will automatically configure this
controller. If a public LAN is
required for a ServerNet I connected
cluster, the embedded Ethernet
included with the server is used and
is automatically configured by the
Quick Install. In either case,
additional or different Ethernet LAN
controllers may be used but they
must be installed after the Quick
Install.
One and only one 9.1-GB or higher

the Quick Install, additional drives

One 64-bit Fibre Channel host bus
adapter (HBA) is required per
server. Multiple HBAs per server are
not supported.
One RA4100 array is required per
cluster. A pair of Fibre Channel
hubs may be added after the Quick
Install to add additional RA4100
arrays.
One RA4000 redundant controller is
required per RA4100 array.
If installing an vendor supplied
database product, it is recommended
that it be run on the server node
that contains the tape drive.
Web enabled CIM Agents support the
U300.

Description

The Quick Install product release for SCO UnixWare 7.1.1 is a new 2-node
cluster kit designed for installation of the operating system and cluster
software in approximately one hour. This is a unique cluster implementation
not available from any other vendor. The Quick Install products are
comprised of two kits, the U200 and U300.
The U200 supports the ProLiant ML370 with Ethernet IP.
The U300 supports the ProLiant ML370 and DL380 with Ethernet IP
or ServerNet I.
Both come with a Quick Install CD used to help simplify and expedite the
installation of the operating system and cluster software.All kits are based
on UnixWare 7.1.1 and Non Stop clusters 7.1.1 + IP software.
