Compaq Insight Manager for Tivoli NetView integrates the benefits of Compaq
Intelligent Manageability into Tivoli NetView for AIX. For companies who
choose Compaq hardware and Tivoli NetView as their preferred Enterprise
platform, Compaq Insight Manager for Tivoli NetView is a comprehensive
solution that simplifies IT management by enabling direct access to Compaq
Intelligent Manageability from within the NetView environment. Through the
versatility of the Compaq Management Agents, it provides the most manageable
platform for Tivoli NetView across a wide range of popular operating
environments, including AIX, Microsoft Windows 2000 / NT, Novell NetWare,
Compaq Tru64 UNIX and Compaq OpenVMS. The strength of this solution lies in
its foundation, which builds upon the functionality and extensive operating
system support provided by Compaq Management Agents to work directly with
native NetView services. The result is a comprehensive, scalable integration
that monitors Compaq servers, clients, and Storage configurations using
Tivoli NetView as the primary management console.
Additional Compaq systems data is available through an integrated browser
launch to the Compaq Management Agents home page, which also provides access
to other web-based Compaq applications, such as Survey and Intelligent
Cluster Administrator. For advanced lights-out management and deployment of
Compaq systems, a link to the Remote Insight Lights Out Edition is also
available. For storage specific management on networks that have a Compaq
SANworks Management Appliance installed, the integration includes an
application launch from the NetView desktop to SANworks Open SAN Manager.
